Our story
Hi, we’re Meg and Rae (MR) – two sisters located in Bathurst, regional NSW.
Using a range of different art mediums, we create unique designs that capture the essence of Australia through our eyes. We bring ideas to life using digital illustrations, acrylic paints, artist’s pens and texture mediums. Each of our designs are original and bespoke pieces, thoughtfully made with a lot of TLC.

MRsista was a purposeful accident.
We’ve both always been in our happiest places when creating, designing and ‘making things look good’. Artistic is in our DNA; graphic design, photography, illustration, painting.
In 2020, we lost our beautiful Dad to a rare, debilitating condition. It rocked our super close-knit family to the core. Over the weeks that followed – numb, but surrounded by love and support – we were inundated with the most truly stunning native floral arrangements; every one of his favourites, and every one of them speaking to us. Dad used to be a forester, and the great Australian outdoors was his home – bold colours, earthy tones and rugged textures.
With a few blank walls to fill in our homes, we set about paying homage to our dear Dad. Inspired by flowers and our own (his) backyards, we created some personalised pieces that we could display for ourselves as a forever memory.
Family started to want some of our creations.
Friends started to ask for commissions.
Our wider networks started encouraging us to ‘do something’ about selling our work.
After months of big picture thinking, step-by-step planning, website developing and creating enough original pieces to ‘put ourselves out there’, we launched MRsista in 2021.
Our journey has been slow and steady, and we’re learning along the way.
We are each other’s biggest supporters; yin and yang. We try to work to each other’s strengths and we’re navigating our way through this new venture. Sometimes – some days – we don’t agree, and still throw the odd tanty at each other.
After all, we’re still sisters – MRsista.
